We announced a partnership recently with Pega, a provider of customer engagement and digital process automation software. This is part of Pega’s Cloud Choice program, and means that Pega now officially supports clients who wish to run and deploy Pega products on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Today, we’re pleased to bring you a solution page born out of our newly minted partnership—Deploying Pega Platform Using Compute Engine and Cloud SQL—so you can see an example of one way to deploy Pega Platform on GCP.
We also announced and demoed a number of integrations between Pega and both G Suite and GCP in the keynote and various breakout sessions at the PegaWorld conference this past summer. Google and Pega are committed to bringing additional product integrations in the future. Google also uses Pega’s workflow automation capabilities (running on GCP, naturally) internally to maintain one of our most critical assets: our network. Pega orchestrates the automation layer of our global Google network, so that we can completely automate network event remediation when there’s an outage or capacity need. We’re able to save on time and resources by having Pega interact with the right person at the right time to handle our work in the field and focus on our core mission.
Running Pega on GCP for your own workflows
GCP lets you harness the reliability, security and scalability of Google’s infrastructure in order to run Pega Platform and build important business apps. You can follow the step-by-step guide on the solution page to run Pega Platform on GCP using Google Compute Engine and a Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL database. You can configure your implementation with high availability features, an instance group for the app servers and Cloud Load Balancing to distribute web traffic to the instance group. Application server logs and metrics are sent to Stackdriver for quick and easy monitoring.

You can either follow the solution guide as written to get up and running quickly, or, to customize your architecture, you can reference these files to help build your own startup scripts to deploy Pega on GCP.
